Gary Gibbons

Mr Gary Gibbons B.Ed(HONS)

Principal, Director, educator, curriculum designer, led schools around the globe and have very extensive experience. Having recently spent three years as Principal in Kuwait and then established an international educational consultancy as Managing Director.

Having gained a bachelor’s in education degree from the University of Wales, UK, I went on to senior leadership after mastering the classroom craft of teaching.

Throughout my educational career I have mastered the UK National Curriculum and the USA Common Core Curriculum. I have managed and led teams, whilst also being a team-player, and been Head Teacher for the British Embassy, five years served as Director of American schools in Africa and worked advising education companies and establishments. In my current role as Principal of Britus International School I manage the workings of a complex and high-achieving school. I believe in empowering students to do their best and to bring together the parents so that we can all achieve more together.

Welcome to the Britus International School Bahrain (BISBH), a school deeply committed to the mission of inspiring our students to excel in the American curriculum Education and the global community as innovative, compassionate citizens.

BISBH serves an international student body of more than 2,400 students Pre-Kindergarten to Grade 12, representing a truly international community. Our students receive an excellent education based upon an American system that offers a great curriculum intentionally designed to engage each and every student and apply their learning to practical, real-life scenarios. We also offer the British IGCSE and the International IB Diploma.

The Britus community can look forward to seeing the very best features of a truly great international school. This community makes BISBH such a special place. Faculty, students and parents share a commitment to the greater good of the community, motivated for individual success, but at the same time supporting one another and valuing the achievements of all. Our status as a CIS accredited School is a testament to the importance of setting high standards and striving for continuous improvement. Additionally, we are currently pursuing international accreditation with the New England Association of Schools & Colleges (NEASC). Benchmarking ourselves against both national and international standards is a crucial part of BISBH’s ongoing journey to grow and develop through the cycle of evaluation, planning and action.

I look forward to building deeper relationships with all of our families as I work to better know our community. To be most successful in this process, we must work together and communicate openly.
