The Parent Council is an advisory body organized to assist BISBH. The council fosters a collaborative relationship among school administrators, parents, teachers, and the business community to provide recommendations for school improvement. Parent Council meetings are scheduled typically on the first Sunday at 1:00 am monthly.
The Parent Council generally consists of a minimum of 12 members: parents or guardians of students enrolled in the school per year level, community members/business partners, two certified full-time teachers, the Vice Principals and the Principal. The term of office for Council members is two years, however, Council members may serve more than one term.
Parents on Parent Council provide important viewpoints and have valuable skills that can help shape the direction of the school. Parent representation is essential to the school council initiative. The policy requires parents to elect parent representatives to the council. Parents are eligible to serve on the Parent Council if they have one or more children presently enrolled at BISBH.
If you or someone you know is a parent/guardian of a child who is enrolled as a student at BISBH, you might consider nominating yourself or others for election as a member of the Parent Council.
No. What is needed are members with an interest in their child’s school and the desire to work with other parents, community members, teachers, and administrators to create a better understanding of and mutual respect for each other’s concerns and share ideas to foster school improvement.
